When it comes to trying to earn success as a business in 2021, there is only one feasible way to get an edge on the competition — a solid digital marketing strategy. There is little to no way a company can gain the brand exposure and relevance it needs to experience breakout success without the help of the Internet. After all, the ongoing pandemic has driven many people to stay at home and do most of their shopping through online channels to help lower the risk of infection.

To help ensure that the company gets the attention of its target audience online, there are plenty of ways to make use of a decent digital marketing strategy. For example, getting the help of professionals such as a Chicago social media agency can benefit just about any company greatly. Professionals can help the business owner focus on many other matters while the social media agency briefs them on how to take advantage of various social media channels to push the company forward.

Most digital marketing tactics will also introduce inexperienced company owners to the world of search engine optimization (SEO). Considering that one of the main goals of any digital marketing strategy is to ensure that the Google algorithm keeps the company visible to online users, it is no wonder why SEO solutions permeate the world of digital marketing. That said, the social media space is just as crucial for business — especially platforms such as Twitter.

How Twitter rose to the top

Like every other social media success story, much of it rides along with an extremely clever idea that blows up into massive proportions. In the case of Twitter, the main idea is to utilize a microblogging system where people are allowed to post their thoughts, but only within the space of 140 characters. Those who are registered to Twitter can like or post “tweets,” as well as retweet the posts of others. It seems like something that might slowly but surely make waves within the social media industry, but instead, the social media channel took off like a rocket. Almost overnight, Internet celebrities were using Twitter, and most of the Internet masses followed.

Nowadays, Twitter is one of the most popular ways of getting an opinion out into the cloud. Considering how many people use Twitter, it is no wonder why many businesses have decided to utilize the platform to help further their marketing strategies.

The beauty of keeping things short and sweet

In the world of website optimization, keeping things short and simple is the name of the game — and one of the core tenets of the Chicago social media agency. The average online user will provide a website a span of ten seconds to catch their attention. If the website’s main page has a wall of text that takes too long to explain the company’s goals, the online user is likely to leave before reading anything else. If the website takes more than ten seconds to fully load, it is highly likely that the online user would be gone long before the site finally loads.

The world of web optimization can be tricky, but the general rule of thumb is to keep things short (outside of blogs and articles). A company learns to condense what it wants to say into a short paragraph because if it does not, people will likely choose a competitor. The reason why keeping things short and sweet is so relevant to businesses and Twitter is the fact that it is a golden rule of business management in general. Companies that understand the rules of web optimization tend to do extremely well with Twitter, as there is an unwritten understanding that keeping things short and getting to the point is a classy move that shows online users the company respects their time.

A world of keywords

Any company that makes use of digital marketing likely knows of keywords, as it is one of the building blocks of a proper digital marketing campaign. Keywords are the words that online users type down in the search engine when they search for products and are the words utilized by Google to help index and rank websites. The shorter the message, the likelier it is to have a keyword or two, which is what Twitter is all about. Considering that there is only a 140 character limit for each post, keywords are rampant in the Twitter-sphere. It also makes things easier for the Google algorithm to find relevant posts of a popular company.

As a matter of fact, curious companies can gather keywords not just from Twitter, but from other sources such as YouTube. YouTube has an interesting search bar where the recommended search is filled to the brim not just with relevant keywords, but keywords that people use 100% of the time. While it might not necessarily be relevant for the Twitter-sphere, an understanding of where to gather keywords can be extremely crucial for a business to find success with the right keywords.

Twitter can help most companies optimize their digital marketing strategy

The trouble with digital marketing is that most company owners tend to get carried away with the message they want to spread far and wide. Instead of providing a succinct headline for their digital marketing strategy, many startup owners cannot help but write down walls of text. The reason why Twitter can help many young companies deal with optimizing a marketing strategy is the fact that it limits the character count for each post.

Online users on Twitter typically have no intention of reading dozens of posts linked together, which is why many companies on Twitter learn how best to make use of the 140 character limit. The company learns how to make use of hashtags to help develop relevance and context without necessarily filling the character limit, as well as learns how to interact with online users.

The only thing a new company has to do when trying to study Twitter, aside from getting the help of a Chicago social media agency, would be to look at the accounts of their competitors. How the most popular competitors post tweets is essentially all a new company needs to get started.
